About
Christian Saucedo’s abstract paintings combine his love of minimalism and abstract expressionism to produce colorful, powerful works that meld the organic and the mechanic. Self-taught, Christian found painting in 2018 as a way to deal with the loss of his brother Eric to suicide. He lives in Inverness, CA, working in his studio and immersing himself in the nature and the culture of this small coastal town.
“I spend much of my time reveling in the beauty of nature outside of our door here. The mountains, the ocean, the bay. But whenever I try to paint it, it falls flat. I can’t do it the justice it deserves. I’m not that painter. So I turned to abstractions because abstraction is nature, it’s human nature, it’s my nature.”
When Christian isn’t working in his home studio he can be found running the local trails or exploring West Marin with his wife, Mary, their dog Bear, and their truck “Champ.”
